Alan focuses his passion and experience on providing a unique, client-centric approach to financial planning and decision-making. Combining his expertise and technical advisory skills with his own personal experience in managing a family-owned business, he creates solutions customized to each client’s situation. He guides a team of carefully selected experts in developing comprehensive Wealth Management plans as appropriate to particular client needs.

After a 15-year career managing his family’s supermarket business, Alan became a Financial Planning Consultant in 1981, focusing on working with families, educators and business owners. He cofounded independent advisory firm, Personal Wealth Advisory, LLC in 2003.

  • Alan resides in Manheim Township with his wife Linda. He enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren.

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

  • Helping to found and then build several successful financial planning firms over my career
  • Having earned my CFP® certification over 30 years ago
  • Helping to start local chapters of the International Association for Financial Planning, which later merged into what is now the Financial Planning Association
  • Involvement with Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and Industry—helping to grow the small business group, and serving as past board member and current financial committee member

What do you enjoy most about financial planning?

Helping people build their financial security by educating and guiding them in investments, and tax, estate and retirement planning. Hearing my clients of many years thank me for their current financial success.

Which of your life experiences gives you the most insight?

Very few people have experienced everything I have experienced during my lifetime. I enjoy sharing and providing guidance and recommendations.

What do you do for fun?

I enjoy traveling, visiting with my family, watching my grandchildren’s activities, and reading novels by Tom Clancy and Clive Cussler.
